“Don't tell me where your priorities are. Show me where you spend your money and I'll tell you what they are.” James W. Frick
I've always been blessed and spoiled by my parents love. They have given me everything and asked for nothing back.
For example my High School graduation gift was a car. They payed for everything. Gas .. insurance... the car itself!
While i continue to work and earn money only to spend it on clothes, food, movies and other useless materials.
So many people i know, my own age and even younger, work hard to pay for college and their own car expenses. My bestfriend even payed for her college herself for a while! How i admire that kind of dedication.
My parents value education more then anything and gladly pay for my college. And so i have ignorantly taken advantage of that. Only to be hit in the face when i suddenly am threatened with not being able to go to school Fall semester because of financial problems.
Parents are too in debt to get any loans and FAFSA cant help till next school year. I look at my bank account and see how little i have accumulated over the summer due to my impulsive spendings. Thinking about how much i've wasted carelessly actually made me depressed for a while.
my new resolution?:
-signed up for a student monthly payment plan
-help pay for my tuition, giving about 1500 (all i can afford to give =()
-signed up at scholarship.com... gatta stop being lazy and write those essays seriously
- no more eating out and buying unnecessary things
- FAFSA down
- Build resume to get better paying job
- help pay for every semester from now on including books
My education should be my priority and therefore i needa take responsibility and take care of it. I know i cant pay for it myself but that doesn't mean i should sit back and do nothing to contribute either. Better my hard earned money go towards my education then that shirt or two that i wear about once or twice.
