HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BFF Amina Shaiza!!! We have been friends since the day we were in the SailorMoon club (6thgrade) til’ now attending college together!♥ Pure hearted and remarkably beautiful from the core out; I’m so grateful of God to have blessed me with a friend that has taught me the true lessons of loyalty, compassion, and genuine friendship.
I can just remember the day when Amina and I were in 5th grade preparing ourselves for the MSPAP test. Amina wanted to USE the taunting powers of my amazing knowledgeable brain because I seemed like the stereotypical asian nerd.
Amina: “She seems smart. Let me copy off of her.”
And so, it was our first time cheating on a test and a beautiful friendship…
Years gone by, and I cannot forget the days where we would walk to and from school together. We would smuggle manga books because being a nerd was UNCOOL at High Point High School. We would always choose gory actionflics over any stupid chicflic film. *gag* Laugh in the most annoying, harmonizing pitch. Pass notes during AP psychology. Go on Ninner&Aminner adventures— and getting lost in the dark alley because of my awesome sense of direction. Eating Pho Real and yogiberry on a weekly basis. Look at each other and can just tell telepathically what we’re both thinking. Make the weirdest confused face. Obnoxiously laugh til’ our stomach hurts. And of course, tell each other the honest truth, and nothing but the truth.
I know I say this a lot about all of my bestfriends, but…
friendship means a lot to me just as saying “i love you” to your lover. ANYONE can say it. And anyone can label someone your “best friend” in vain without meaning it whole-heartedly. It bothers me when people throw that word around and then…turn out to be completely 2-faced. I only have the specific few in my life whom I’m consider dear to me…and they are the people who would never betray me.
